UMVA has learned that Arsenal is engaged in talks to sell star player Leandro Trossard, with several top clubs already circling for his signature.
The Belgian winger has been a key player for Arsenal since joining from Brighton in 2023 for £27m, scoring 35 goals over the past three seasons. However, his form tailed off in the second half of the season, and the Gunners are now open to selling him.
Arsenal are planning to bring in a new left-winger, with PSG's Bradley Barcola and AC Milan's Rafael Leao high on their wishlist. Trossard's decreased contributions towards the end of the season have made him a prime candidate for a summer exit.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa are among the clubs interested in signing Trossard, with the Magpies looking to replace Anthony Gordon, who recently joined Barcelona for £70m. Villa, meanwhile, have sent Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United and may look to Trossard as a potential replacement.
Trossard had suggested he could stay at Arsenal for another season, but his comments now seem hollow in light of the club's willingness to sell. The 28-year-old insisted he was happy at the Emirates, but a number of pundits have questioned whether he is the right player for Arsenal's long-term plans.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard recently suggested that Arsenal should look to upgrade Trossard's position, saying the club may target a new left-winger to improve their squad. With several top clubs interested in Trossard, Arsenal may be tempted to cash in on their star player.
Besiktas, a Turkish giant, has also held talks with Trossard's agents and Arsenal over a potential summer move. The club has long admired Trossard and attempted to sign him last summer, but was rebuffed by the Gunners.
Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Juventus are also keeping tabs on Trossard's situation, adding to the growing list of suitors for the talented winger. With so many clubs interested, Arsenal may be able to command a significant transfer fee for Trossard.
