UMVA has learned that England fans are in high spirits ahead of their World Cup match against Ghana, with pubs in Boston's Patriot Place ordering more fridges to prepare for the influx of British supporters.
The enthusiasm is palpable, with fans like Jolie Sharpe joining in the excitement at a bar near the Boston Stadium in Foxborough. The atmosphere is electric, with supporters eager to cheer on their team.
Jeremy Clarkson, a well-known England fan, has given away two free tickets to the match, telling fans that he wanted to treat someone without tickets. The lucky recipients were two lads from Selby in Yorkshire, who couldn't believe their luck.
A family of die-hard fans, Glenn Hawkins, 61, his son Howard, 31, and daughter Eve, 28, have already splashed £30,000 on following England to various tournaments. They're backing the Three Lions to deliver a win against Ghana, with Glenn predicting a 2-0 victory and Eve adding "at least."
Howard is even more optimistic, predicting a 3-0 win, including a Harry Kane double and another goal from Marcus Rashford. The Oxfordshire trio are full of praise for Gareth Southgate's side, citing their positive intent, energy, and clear playing style.
The family has followed England to every major tournament since Brazil 2014 and plans to continue until they are eliminated. They've already traveled to several cities in the US, and their bill is adding up, with Eve revealing that six cans of Stella cost $97.
Another England-supporting family, Andy Chard and Tim Chard, are also confident about the match, predicting a 4- or 5-1 win. They've already bet money on the outcome and paid around $600 for tickets at Gillette Stadium.
Despite some concerns about England's defense, Andy believes the team has enough firepower to overcome any challenges. The fans are undeterred by soaring ticket prices, travel costs, and parking fees, with over 14,000 fans expected to descend on Massachusetts for the Ghana game.
