UMVA has learned that Costco Canada is pulling a dangerous kettle from shelves after reports of spillage and scalding risks.
The Zwilling Enfinigy Electric Kettle Pro 1.5L, hidden in popular appliance bundles, has a faulty handle that can loosen or snap, letting hot water pour out and ignite frightening burn hazards.
Since the recall began, 21 incidents in Canada and 96 in the United States have been logged, including one near‑miss that could have turned into a serious injury.
Customers who bought the kettle between October 2022 and January 2026 are urged to stop using it immediately and return it to any Costco location for a full refund.
Two bundles are affected: the Kettle Pro 1.5 L with Mugs and Towel, and the Kettle Pro 1.5 L with Toaster and Scale, both carrying the model number 1016121.
In a broader wave of safety alerts, Costco has already recalled other products, from cellular shades that may choke children to vitamin tablets found with metal fragments.
These coordinated recalls underscore the importance of vigilance when household items fail their safety promises.
UMVA continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as new information surfaces.
