David Beckham's Awkward Encounter with Katherine Jenkins at Wimbledon Reignites Old Rivalry Tensions

David Beckham's Awkward Encounter with Katherine Jenkins at Wimbledon Reignites Old Rivalry Tensions

The first day of Wimbledon brought together some of the world's biggest stars, and the tension between two of them was palpable. David Beckham and Katherine Jenkins, both attending the tennis tournament, seemed to be avoiding each other at all costs.

Beckham, 51, sat in the Royal Box, while Jenkins, 46, was just a few feet away with her husband, Andrew Levitas. Jenkins looked stunning in a white dress with blue polka dots, while Beckham was his usual suave self in grey attire. His mother, Sandra, was by his side, and the two were seen taking selfies together.

However, when Beckham turned around to snap a picture with his mother, Jenkins faced the other way, seemingly avoiding eye contact. The two have a history, dating back to 2012 when Jenkins denied rumors that she and Beckham were having an affair. The drama fizzled out, but a fresh scandal emerged in 2017 when "Beckileaks" leaked emails that suggested Beckham had branded Jenkins' OBE a "f*ing joke."

Jenkins was said to have been upset by the scandal, telling Fabulous magazine that it was "hurtful" but that she had learned to deal with the negative attention that comes with fame. When asked if she had received an apology from Beckham or his camp, she said that she had not, and that the whole ordeal had left her feeling "disappointed."

Despite the tension between them, both Beckham and Jenkins were seen smiling and laughing with other guests at the tournament. Jenkins was spotted greeting Alexander Armstrong with a hug and a peck on the cheek, while Beckham took photos with his mother and Dame Mary Berry.

The first day of Wimbledon saw some exciting matches, including a win for the UK's Cameron Norrie and a loss for the UK's Harriet Dart. As the tournament continues, it will be interesting to see if Beckham and Jenkins are able to put their past differences aside and enjoy the rest of the event together.
