Catch-22, a 2019 mini-series directed by George Clooney, has been added to Amazon Prime Video's roster of TV shows.
The dark satire, based on Joseph Heller's 1961 novel, stars Christopher Abbott as Captain John Yossarian, an Air Force bombardier struggling to escape the fighting in World War Two.
Catch-22 follows Captain Yossarian as he discovers an impossible situation: the mentally unwell can be dismissed from military service, but by applying to be excused due to mental state, one is deemed fit for missions.
The series received 84% on Rotten Tomatoes and was praised by fans online, with one user calling it 'criminally neglected' and deserving more recognition.
Clooney, who also stars in the series, admitted it's been a while since he returned to the TV series for an acting role.
Catch-22 was nominated for two Emmys for its special visual effects and sound editing, boasting a 7.7/10 star rating on IMDb.
The series' logline reads: 'Catch-22 is the story of Yossarian, a US Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him.'
The show follows Yossarian as he navigates the bureaucratic rule of Catch-22, which states that a concern for one's own safety is evidence of insanity, making him ineligible to be relieved from duty.
