Broadway and television actor Josh Grisetti died at age 44 on Friday, according to a statement from his friend and co‑worker Rob McClure.
Grisetti’s death was ruled a suicide, a loss described by those close to him as “cataclysmic.” McClure expressed profound grief, saying he could not comprehend the tragedy.
The actor is survived by his wife, realtor Mackenzie Perpich Grisetti.
Grisetti was best known for playing Nigel Bottom in the 2016 Broadway musical “Something Rotten!” and for his eight‑episode role as Ralph Emerson in season five of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” He also appeared in “The Knights of Prosperity,” sharing the screen with Sofia Vergara, “Nurse Jackie,” and “The Good Fight.”
His career began in 2008 with the cast of “Enter Laughing,” and he made his Broadway debut in 2011’s “Camelot.”
Tributes have poured in from fellow actors and friends, including heartfelt messages from Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, and Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block, all mourning the loss of a kind and talented colleague.
