Antiques Roadshow star Theo Burrell has tragically passed away at the age of 39, following a two-year battle with brain cancer. Her husband shared the devastating news via social media, stating that she died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 8.
Burrell was initially diagnosed with a glioblastoma, a type of brain tumour, at the age of 35, after experiencing severe migraines. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, and was initially told she had only three months to live. However, her tumour began to grow again in 2024, and she had been in a stable condition until her recent passing.
Burrell joined Antiques Roadshow in 2018 as a specialist in decorative arts and fine antiques. She was an active campaigner in raising awareness for brain tumours and became a patron for Brain Tumour Research. The charity has penned a tribute to the television star, describing her as "phenomenal, determined, and truly inspiring."
Burrell married her partner, Alex, in March of this year, and had been documenting her battle with cancer on social media. She had spoken candidly about her prognosis and had expressed hope that her story would inspire others to find hope in the face of adversity.
The charity community has rallied around Burrell's family, offering support and condolences. Her husband has urged others to continue her mission, driven by the lessons she taught them about resilience and determination.
