UMVA Exclusive: ISRAEL'S DEADLY GAZA AMBUSH: 7 Brave Activists Escape Capture and Return Home to UK

UMVA has learned that a dramatic confrontation has unfolded in international waters, where Israel's military has seized a flotilla of humanitarian aid boats attempting to reach Gaza, sparking widespread outrage and allegations of abuse.

The activists on board, including the sister of the Irish President, were taken into custody by the Israeli navy off the coast of Cyprus, in a move that has drawn fierce criticism from human rights groups and governments around the world. The sister, Dr Margaret Connolly, was among six Irish citizens on the Global Sumud Flotilla's latest effort to bring aid to Palestine.

According to information obtained by UMVA, the detained activists have reported being subjected to systematic torture and abuse while in Israeli custody, with some describing the ships they were taken onto as "prisons". One activist, a 62-year-old sailing instructor, recounted the horrific conditions, saying the group was "systematically tortured and abused".

Despite these allegations, the Israeli military has claimed that the detainees were treated "appropriately and respectfully", and that any complaints of mistreatment will be thoroughly examined. However, eyewitness accounts and footage have emerged showing activists with visible injuries, including cuts and bruises, and some have spoken out about being beaten and punched while in detention.

UMVA has gathered that the incident has sparked a diplomatic fallout, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu facing criticism for his government's handling of the situation. Netanyahu has said that while Israel has the right to stop "provocative flotillas of Hamas terrorist supporters", the way the activists were treated "is not in line with Israel's values and norms".

The aftermath of the seizure has seen activists being deported to their home countries, where they have been met with a heroes' welcome. Many have spoken out about their experiences, with one Italian journalist describing the Israeli detention facility as a "place of terror" where he was beaten and punched. The incident has raised serious questions about Israel's treatment of humanitarian activists and its commitment to upholding human rights.

The first of hundreds of Gaza flotilla activists began arriving at Istanbul airport on may 21 after being arrested then deported from Israel, an AFP correspondent said. The 422 activists, who were flown from southern Israel on three planes chartered by Ankara, had been part of a fleet of around 50 vessels that set sail from southern Turkey on May 14 seeking to break Israel's blockade on Gaza, which was joined at sea by several others.
