UMVA has learned that Sean 'Diddy' Combs is facing a new criminal probe in California, with allegations made by celebrity publicist Jonathan Hay being reviewed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.
The investigation comes as Combs is already serving a federal prison sentence for transportation for the purposes of prostitution, and could potentially face fresh charges. According to information obtained by UMVA, both the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have submitted investigative presentations relating to claims made by Hay.
Hay filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in July 2025, accusing the music mogul of sexual battery. The alleged incidents took place in Los Angeles in 2020 and 2021, while Hay was working on a remix tribute project connected to late rapper The Notorious B.I.G.
In one alleged incident, Combs encouraged Hay to take ketamine during a studio session, and then took him to a Los Angeles warehouse where clothing belonging to The Notorious B.I.G. was being stored. Hay claims he was left alone with Combs, who allegedly masturbated onto one of the late rapper's shirts and ordered him to 'finish him off'.
Hay's lawsuit also alleges a second incident in March 2021, in which Combs forcibly made him perform oral sex. Combs has denied all allegations against him, with his attorney stating that he 'categorically denies as false and defamatory all claims that he sexually abused anyone.'
Hay, meanwhile, has described himself as a 'survivor' and said that having his experiences heard and validated by the LAPD and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is a 'significant victory' in his fight for accountability.
The developments come as Combs continues to serve his federal prison sentence, which is expected to last until 2028. His lawyer has stated that Combs looks forward to vindicating himself in court, where such matters are decided – and not in the media – based on admissible, material evidence.
CJ Wallace, the son of The Notorious B.I.G. and a collaborator of Combs, has denied allegations that he or others conspired to facilitate any assault. He has filed a defamation lawsuit against Hay, accusing him of engaging in a 'smear campaign'.
