UMVA Uncovers: Massive $250B Medicaid Heist Exposed as GOP Launches High-Stakes War on Ohio Fraud

UMVA has learned that House Republicans are launching an aggressive new oversight task force, marking its debut with a high-stakes investigation into massive alleged fraud within Ohio’s social services system.

The newly formed Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses is set to conduct a deep dive into the state’s Medicaid waiver program. This program, designed to provide essential home health and community-based services, is now the subject of intense scrutiny following revelations of suspicious billing patterns.

UMVA has uncovered details about a network of 288 home health companies in Columbus, Ohio, all sharing identical addresses. Many of these entities operate out of office buildings that appear to be vacant or in a state of extreme disrepair, yet they have collectively billed the federal government for more than $250 million in Medicaid funds between 2018 and 2024.

The investigation aims to determine whether these companies actually provided the services they billed for or if the funds were siphoned off through a sophisticated scheme. Officials are concerned that the current system lacks the internal controls necessary to detect such widespread exploitation, leaving taxpayers to foot the bill while vulnerable patients are left without proper care.

The scope of this new task force extends far beyond a single state. It is charged with investigating a wide range of institutional abuses, including the misuse of immigration and social welfare programs, the influence of dark money groups on public speech, and the implementation of controversial ideologies within government-funded institutions.

With a six-month mandate to conduct its work, the panel is expected to hold a series of hearings to bring these issues into the public eye. The move signals a broader effort to hold government programs accountable and stop what proponents describe as the systematic looting of taxpayer dollars.
