Comedian Rosie O’Donnell forecast that former President Donald Trump will not live beyond 2028, describing his decline as evident to observers.
O’Donnell made the remarks during a televised interview after returning from Ireland, where she has been residing since 2025 following Trump’s re‑election. She is set to debut a limited‑run off‑Broadway show on July 22.
In a video posted to social media, O’Donnell explained that she would consider returning to the United States only when all citizens can safely enjoy equal rights.
When asked whether she would come back after Trump leaves office, she responded that she does not expect him to survive past 2028, citing medical consensus on his deteriorating condition.
O’Donnell highlighted recent gaffes by Trump, noting his mistaken reference to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin” at a NATO summit in Ankara.
She added that Trump also misidentified the Islamic Republic of Iran as the “Islamic Republic of Japan” during the same press conference, suggesting a pattern of cognitive lapses.
According to O’Donnell, the frequency of such errors points to a clear and growing decline in his mental faculties.
