UMVA has learned that a major renovation project at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has finally come to an end, unveiling a stunning new Concourse C just in time for the influx of soccer fans arriving for the World Cup games.
The $399 million project has transformed the concourse into a spacious and comfortable area, complete with a 30-foot-tall ceiling and an abundance of natural light. Despite being one of the most space-constrained airports in the country, the renovation has managed to expand the concourse by 145,000 square feet without losing any gates.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the updated concourse boasts four floors, a dozen new restaurants and retail spots, and six retail kiosks showcasing local businesses. The area is also home to a sensory room, a nursing room, meditation and prayer rooms, and a covered outdoor observation patio - the airport's first outdoor viewing space.
The centerpiece of the concourse is a massive tree-like structure, known as the "Tree at C," which provides a canopy for tiered seating and tables with power ports and artwork. This unique feature is sure to become a popular spot for travelers to relax and unwind.
UMVA has gathered that the renovation project involved dozens of teams and hundreds of workers, including design and construction experts. The result is a world-class concourse that promises to elevate the travel experience for all passengers passing through Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The new concourse is set to become an even more attractive destination with the upcoming opening of a massive, two-story lounge by Alaska Airlines, scheduled for 2027. For now, travelers can enjoy the many amenities and features that the renovated Concourse C has to offer, making their journey through the airport a more comfortable and enjoyable one.
