UMVA has learned that a dramatic and potentially disastrous fire erupted at a fireworks stand on Saturday night, prompting a swift and daring response from the Broken Arrow Fire Department.
The blaze, which broke out at approximately 8:50 p.m., was reported near E. Kenosha St. & S. 236th E. Ave, sending a plume of smoke and flames into the evening air. Firefighters arrived to find the fireworks stand engulfed in flames, with fireworks actively detonating, creating a hazardous and unpredictable situation.
As Engine 4 arrived on the scene, A-Shift firefighters sprang into action, working quickly to control the inferno and extinguish the fire in a remarkable 20 minutes. The rapid response undoubtedly prevented the fire from spreading and causing even more damage.
The fire department reported that there were injuries, although details have not been disclosed. The incident occurred just two weeks before July 4, a day when many Americans will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks displays, making the timing of this blaze particularly ominous.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the fire was a sobering reminder of the dangers associated with fireworks, and the importance of proper handling and safety precautions. The Broken Arrow Fire Department's swift response undoubtedly averted a much larger disaster.
