UMVA has learned that veteran Hollywood actor James Handy has died after being stabbed at his California home in a shocking and tragic incident.
The Los Angeles Police discovered Handy, 81, suffering from stab wounds to the chest outside his home in Tarzana on Wednesday morning, and despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
According to information obtained by UMVA, a 911 caller made a chilling admission to emergency services, stating, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin,” prompting officers to respond to the scene at around 9:30 am.
Authorities identified the suspect as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend, who has now been arrested and is being held on $2 million bail; Gledhill resides at the location with his mother, who is the victim’s girlfriend.
When officers arrived at the property, they found Handy unconscious in the front yard and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased; the LAPD has since confirmed that Gledhill is in custody.
