Newly released CCTV footage captures the final, frantic moments of Jordan Wright, the 33-year-old reality television personality, before his death in Thailand. The images reveal a disturbing scene of a man seemingly running for his life, adding a layer of mystery to his tragic passing.
Wright, known for appearances on shows like “The Only Way Is Essex” and “Ex On The Beach,” had relocated to Phuket in December on a digital nomad visa, seeking a new chapter in his life. He was discovered days later, lying face down in a shallow drainage canal, a stark contrast to the vibrant life he’d portrayed online.
The black and white footage, taken just before midnight on March 12th at the Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao Beach, shows Wright sprinting with a desperate urgency. He repeatedly glances over his shoulder, a clear indication he believed he was being followed or pursued. The scene is unsettling, hinting at a hidden fear.
In a fleeting moment, Wright grabs onto a parked truck for support, momentarily steadying himself before disappearing around a corner. Nearby, a person on a motorbike remains oblivious, engrossed in their phone, seemingly unaware of the drama unfolding just feet away.
The footage then shows Wright dashing across open fields, further distancing himself from the hotel grounds. Two days later, a construction worker discovered his body, submerged in stagnant water approximately 300 meters from his room. The area where he was found lacked surveillance cameras, leaving a crucial gap in the timeline.
Thai authorities are treating the circumstances surrounding Wright’s death as “unclear,” and haven’t ruled out the possibility of foul play. Investigators are meticulously reviewing CCTV from earlier in the evening, attempting to piece together Wright’s movements and identify anyone he may have been fleeing.
Police spokesperson Sutthirak Chuthong stated, “The circumstances leading up to the death are quite unclear. It is possible that other people were involved.” An autopsy is currently underway at Vachira Phuket Hospital, hoping to provide definitive answers.
Just weeks before his death, Wright had shared idyllic images of his life in Phuket on Instagram, captioning a photo, “I’m home… ft the best bath I’ve ever taken.” This stark contrast between his online persona and the harrowing CCTV footage deepens the mystery surrounding his final hours.
Wright’s diverse background – encompassing work as a firefighter, financial investor, and aspiring DJ – paints a picture of a multifaceted individual. His untimely death has left many questions unanswered, and the investigation continues to seek the truth behind the frantic sprint captured on camera.
