Carol Vorderman, the popular Welsh TV presenter, has shared a harrowing tale of a recent fall that left her unconscious and covered in bruises.
The 65-year-old presenter revealed that she tripped over a tree root while walking near her home at the end of May, causing her to smash onto a tarmac path and lose consciousness.
Vorderman was rushed to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, where she underwent CT scans and treatment. She was discharged the following day but still experienced lingering dizziness and massive vomiting.
The TV presenter, best known for hosting the long-running game show "The Countdown," said she was plagued by dizziness and disorientation for several weeks after the fall.
However, after undergoing a series of treatments known as the Epley manoeuvre, Vorderman reported significant improvement in her symptoms.
The Epley manoeuvre is a treatment designed to target tiny crystals in the ears that can become dislodged and cause dizziness. The procedure involves a series of head movements to use gravity and dislodge the crystals from the semi-circular canals in the ear.
Vorderman credited the Epley manoeuvre with helping her overcome the lingering effects of the fall, saying that after three sessions, she was feeling much better.
