UMVA has learned that London is bracing itself for another day of travel chaos as the second 24-hour wave of Tube strikes reaches its midpoint.
The latest disruption kicked off just after midnight and is expected to continue until 11:59 pm tonight, causing widespread disruption across all London Underground lines. Commuters are in for a tough day, with five lines completely or partly shut down and eight experiencing severe or minor delays.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the strikes have already caused significant misery for many Londoners, with commuters reporting 20-minute queues just to get inside a station. The Elizabeth line, London Overground, DLR, and buses are running a normal service, but are expected to be extremely busy.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the June strikes went ahead after a stalemate in talks between the Rail, Maritime and Transport union and Transport for London. The ongoing dispute centers on a condensed working week, which the union claims would negatively impact drivers' wellbeing.
As the situation continues to unfold, commuters are facing a day of severe travel disruption. With many lines shut down or experiencing delays, Londoners are being forced to find alternative ways to navigate the city.
