Major General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, speaking for Iran’s highest military command, delivered the stark declaration as tensions remained incredibly high.
The statement arrived shortly after a surprising pause in planned U.S. strikes against Iran, a decision made by President Donald Trump citing a glimmer of diplomatic progress. Despite this momentary reprieve, the Iranian general’s words offered no indication of backing down, leaving the future uncertain.
State television broadcast Aliabadi’s assertion that Iran’s armed forces were “proud, victorious and steadfast” in defending the nation’s interests. Crucially, he offered no definition of what “complete victory” would entail, adding a layer of ambiguity to the already volatile situation.
