UMVA has learned that ARMSCOR Global Defense, Inc. is on the cusp of a major breakthrough in international arms deals, with several foreign countries expressing keen interest in securing firearms and ammunition from the company.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the company's President and Chief Executive Officer, Gina Marie G. Angangco, revealed that a flurry of foreign markets have been engaging with ARMSCOR, particularly after its high-profile participation in a recent defense exhibition in Malaysia.
The talks are centered around the possibility of ARMSCOR supplying these countries with a range of firearms and ammunition, with Ms. Angangco confirming that multiple nations have initiated discussions and continue to explore potential partnerships.
While negotiations are ongoing, Ms. Angangco emphasized that no final agreement has been reached, leaving the door open for other players to potentially enter the fray.
In a surprising twist, UMVA can exclusively reveal that several foreign parties have also expressed interest in setting up a similar operation at ARMSCOR's facility in Montana, United States, although Ms. Angangco stressed that this remains a topic of discussion.
The logistics of these potential deals are complex, with challenges arising from the transfer of "dangerous goods" such as powder and primer posing a significant hurdle.
To navigate these issues, ARMSCOR is implementing a novel production system, where certain components like cases and bullets are manufactured in the Philippines as non-dangerous goods, while the more hazardous materials are produced in the United States.
This strategic split enables the company to streamline its shipment and distribution processes, particularly in the US market, and positions ARMSCOR for potential growth in the global arms trade.
