MANIAC ON THE LOOSE: Killer Escaped From PRISON!

MANIAC ON THE LOOSE: Killer Escaped From PRISON!

A convicted attempted murderer, John Laidlaw, has vanished after escaping from an unsupervised work placement. The escape triggered an immediate and extensive search by authorities, raising concerns for public safety.

Laidlaw, originally from Hertfordshire, was serving time for a horrific 2006 shooting near Finsbury Park in London. He had been granted regular, unsupervised day release to work at a car valet service open to the public – a privilege exploited when he disappeared shortly after 2pm following a shift.

The 2007 trial revealed a chilling motive behind the attack. Laidlaw, a former boxer, reportedly threatened to kill all Black people during the shooting, unleashing violence fueled by hate.

His rampage began with the shooting of Abu Kamara, a social worker and father of three, in the neck. When 22-year-old Evans Baptiste bravely pursued Laidlaw, he too became a target, narrowly avoiding a bullet that instead struck 26-year-old Emma Sheridan in the back.

This wasn’t an isolated incident. Just three weeks before the Finsbury Park shooting, Laidlaw had already admitted to attacking a Black motorist, painting a disturbing pattern of racially motivated violence.

Now, Cleveland Police are utilizing every resource available – including search dogs and drone technology – to locate the fugitive. They are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage, desperately seeking any clue to his whereabouts.

Superintendent John Wrintmore stated Laidlaw is unfamiliar with the area, leaving authorities with no immediate indication of his intended destination. Investigators are also examining whether he may have used the nearby Yarm train station to travel north or south.

The public is urged not to approach Laidlaw if spotted, but to immediately contact the police by dialing 999. The priority remains the swift and safe apprehension of a dangerous individual.
