The hand dryer in the men's toilet at the Crown and Treaty pub in west London has become a contentious issue, causing emotional damage to locals and visitors alike.
The hand dryer, which has been a point of contention since 2019, is nestled very close between the urinal and the sink, making it an awkward and inconvenient location.
A recent visit to the pub revealed that the hand dryer is indeed in an awkward place, as using the urinal on the far right side turns it on, and if you need to use the hand dryer, it's just a few centimeters from one of the sinks.
The pub's owners, Guna and Anu Sachdeva, took over the establishment in October and were initially unaware of the hand dryer's notorious status.
It wasn't until two men cycled all the way from Ealing to see the hand dryer that the Sachdevas realized the extent of the issue.
"We have had the occasional social media comment and prank call about it, but we were never quite sure what it was about," Guna said.
The pub has since received a number of Google reviews, with one reviewer simply stating, "Hey guys, I've never been to the England let alone your pub. But, as a responsible human being, I request you to relocate the Men's toilet hand dryer to a more sensible position."
The Sachdevas are now considering moving the hand dryer after the recent influx of reviews and comments.
"We are open to moving it if Count Binface wants to come chat with us, we could have a really nice meal here," Guna said.
"If England bring it home as well, we might give back and be willing to find a new place for it."
