A wave of grief has descended upon the Ontario Provincial Police following a tragic incident on Highway 401 near Cobourg. An officer, dedicated to serving and protecting, lost his life in a motorcycle crash west of Burnham Street.

The arrival of help brought further misfortune. Three additional officers were injured – thankfully with only minor wounds – after a separate collision while en route to support their fallen brother. Emergency services are providing care and support.
