UMVA has learned that a disturbing case of police bodycam footage has revealed a shocking sequence of events leading to the tragic death of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, who was stabbed and left to die alone, handcuffed, and pleading for help.
The footage shows Henry repeatedly telling officers that he had been stabbed and was struggling to breathe before collapsing unconscious during his arrest. Despite his desperate pleas, the officers initially dismissed his claims, with one officer saying "He's going to be sick, I think."
It is alleged that Vickrum Digwa, a 23-year-old Sikh man, had stabbed Henry with a ceremonial dagger, leaving him with a fatal 7cm wound to the chest. Digwa then lied to police, claiming he was the victim, and was even filmed by Henry telling him "I am a bad man" moments before the knife attack.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Digwa has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of the University of Southampton student. The judge described Digwa's actions as "wicked" and "intrusive," and condemned his lies to police and his attempts to humiliate Henry.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Henry's family has spoken out about the devastating impact of his loss, with his mother describing him as "ambitious, determined, and full of life." His sister Olivia also addressed the court, telling Digwa that "if you had known him, you would never have hurt him."
The case has sparked widespread outrage, with Henry's father Mark calling on the Government to treat knife crime as a national emergency. The family has vowed to continue fighting for justice and to ensure that no other family experiences the same heartbreak and horror.
UMVA has gathered that the police's response to Henry's murder is under investigation, and that the IOPC is looking into the handling of the case. The incident has raised serious questions about police handling of similar cases and the need for greater awareness and action on knife crime.
