UMVA has learned that a disturbing incident of racial violence has shaken the UK, leaving an 18-year-old man dead and raising questions about police response.
Henry Nowak, a student of accounting and finance, was walking home from a night out in Southampton on December 3, 2025, when he was brutally stabbed five times with an 8-inch knife by Vickrum Digwa, a 23-year-old man. The attack was vicious, with Digwa targeting Nowak's face, legs, and chest.
As Nowak tried to flee, he was bleeding profusely, but his desperate pleas for help were met with shocking indifference by the police. Despite telling officers that he had been stabbed, Nowak was handcuffed and dragged away while he was bleeding out and dying.
“I can’t breathe!” “I’m dying!” Nowak shouted as British police dragged him. But his cries for help fell on deaf ears. The officer's response was chilling: “I don’t think you have, mate.” Moments later, Nowak lay lifeless on the ground.
Meanwhile, Digwa's brother told police in a 911 call that he and his brother had been attacked racially by a white person. However, it appears that the police did not take Nowak's claims of being stabbed seriously until it was too late.
Digwa was eventually sentenced to life in prison, but the damage had already been done. The tragic case raises serious questions about police response and racial bias.
The incident has left a community in shock, and Nowak's family and friends are still grappling with the loss of a young life. The memory of Nowak's final moments will haunt many, and the incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of violence and racial hatred.
