A disturbing incident involving two U.S. Forces Korea service members has been caught on camera in a viral video.
The footage shows a heavy-set American man in his 30s, who has since been taken into custody, viciously attacking the two servicemen, both in their 20s, on a street in Sinjang-dong early Sunday morning.
The neighborhood is located near Osan Air Base, a key hub for American air power defending the Republic of Korea against North Korean aggression.
The witness video shows the suspect kicking and shoving one soldier before turning on the pair's female companion.
When the second soldier tried to intervene, the American punched him squarely in the face, knocking him unconscious.
The young service member lay motionless on the pavement for some time as the attacker continued his rampage.
The suspect was arrested at the scene by police who had responded to a report, and claimed that he did not know the victims.
However, multiple Korean media outlets and social media users have identified the man as a social media influencer known for flashy online content.
When arrested by the police, the influencer said, "I'm the Korean George Floyd n!"
The incident has sparked widespread concern and outrage, both in Korea and internationally.
