Effective within days, any casino seeking to shift, enlarge or shrink its gaming floor inside the same building will now face a fresh P50,000 processing charge, on top of the existing inspection fee. The move signals a relentless push to monitor every square meter of play space.
Beyond the new venue fee, the regulator is forging a tighter alliance with the central bank, demanding that banks and payment firms serving the industry obey anti‑money‑laundering rules to the letter. Non‑compliant institutions could trigger penalties and heightened scrutiny.
Payment gateway providers are also in the crosshairs, forced to present up‑to‑date central‑bank licences rather than mere registration certificates, tightening the chain of accountability for every digital transaction.
Advertising is not spared either. The updated code now obliges operators to secure prior approval before broadcasting any general announcements or promoting online gaming platforms through mass media, curbing unchecked hype.
These sweeping reforms will become active five days after their posting on the regulator’s website, marking a decisive step toward a more transparent and tightly controlled gaming landscape.
