Charles Hosts Harry, Meghan, and Their Children for Family Reunion at Highgrove

Charles Hosts Harry, Meghan, and Their Children for Family Reunion at Highgrove

Highgrove House serves as the private country home of the King, situated in rural Gloucestershire.

The reunion of Harry’s children with their grandfather is noteworthy, especially as Meghan will not accompany them in the United Kingdom. The children have not seen King Charles for four years.

Lilibet and Archie have been absent from any personal meeting with their grandfather since 2022.

Harry has expressed a desire to reconnect with family by spending time at Balmoral Castle, hoping his children can build cherished memories with the King.

Meghan prefers to keep the family in their newly completed villa in Portugal, where they can relax together.

The estrangement between Harry and his father, as well as his brother, began after the couple stepped down as senior royals in 2020.

Since the Platinum Jubilee weekend in 2022, the children have not met the King in person.

Harry and Meghan have visited the United Kingdom infrequently since leaving their royal duties.

Following their departure, they were stripped of taxpayer-funded police protection, and a subsequent legal challenge to restore it was unsuccessful.

Harry cited safety concerns and the inability to guarantee protection as reasons for not returning to the UK with his family.

He now pays for a private security team that does not possess jurisdiction within Great Britain.

The security situation is believed to be contributing to strain between the couple.
