US forces launched another round of strikes against Iran on Tuesday afternoon, marking four consecutive days of attacks, just one hour before the US Navy blockade against Iran started.
At 3 p.m. ET, U.S. Central Command forces began launching an additional round of strikes against Iran to continue degrading Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes are taking place as American forces prepare to resume the naval blockade against Iranian ports and coastal areas.
The blockade, which went into effect at 4 p.m. ET, is being enforced by more than 20 US Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft operating across the Middle East. American forces remain vigilant and ready, according to U.S. Central Command.
President Trump previously declared that the ceasefire with Iran is "over" last week before launching multiple strikes, including a 5-hour-long mission on Monday. The President told Fox News that he's resuming the blockade and "We're taking over the Strait. They have nothing. They've got nothing."
The US executed strikes throughout the weekend after Iran targeted another commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. The situation in the region remains tense, with US forces maintaining a strong presence in the area.
There are currently more than 20 US Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft operating across the Middle East. American forces remain ready to respond to any potential threats in the region.
