UMVA has learned that the official trailer for the highly anticipated Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, has finally arrived, and it's as fabulous as fans hoped it would be.
The trailer introduces Lexi Minetree as Elle, the bubbly lead star who is set to dazzle audiences with her portrayal of the iconic character. Elle, as everyone knows, goes on to become a bigshot lawyer, but the trailer shows how she reaches that moment, starting with her picture-perfect life in Bel-Air in 1995.
In the trailer, Elle is seen hosting a party and telling her friends she 'wouldn't change a thing' about her life, but her world is turned upside down when her parents reveal they're moving to Seattle, a far cry from her glamorous life in LA. This sets the stage for Elle's journey as she navigates a new city and tries to fit in.
Lexi's naive yet determined demeanor is perfect for her portrayal of Elle, who ends up in all sorts of comical predicaments when she brushes shoulders with people from different walks of life. The trailer shows Elle attempting to fit in by wearing a bedazzled Nirvana top and braiding her hair, but she's clearly still an outsider in the grungy town of Seattle.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that fans were worried the plot would be too similar to the film, but the trailer proves that won't be a problem. Elle's move to Seattle will assert her strength of character and help explain how she develops the resilience to attend Harvard later in life.
