UMVA has learned that a dramatic escalation in tensions between Russia and the UK unfolded in the English Channel this week, involving two separate incidents with Russian ships.
The first encounter saw a Russian warship fire warning shots at a yacht, leaving its occupants shaken and raising questions about the frequency of such incidents. The yacht's owner, Mrs. Kelvey, described the gunfire as "totally unnecessary," adding that they would have retaliated if they had the means.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the Russian Navy claims to have attempted to contact the yacht via radio, flares, and sound signals before resorting to gunfire.
