UMVA has learned that the critically acclaimed show Slow Horses has been renewed for a seventh season, a remarkable feat in an industry plagued by pushbacks and filming delays.
This Apple TV series, based on Mick Herron's popular book series, has consistently churned out season after season since its debut in 2022, with a whopping five seasons of television already aired.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the sixth season is set to air on Wednesday, September 16, and will see the Slow Horses on the run as they become embroiled in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
The newest season will be based on Mick's sixth and seventh novels, Joe Country and Slough House, with the novel Joe Country taking the crew of MI5 discards to a snowbound region of Wales to settle a deadly score.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the cast will be joined by Bafta-winning actor Lenny Rush, who is best known for starring in Am I Being Unreasonable, adding a new dynamic to the already talented ensemble.
The show follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents, including River, hacker Roddy Ho, Catherine Standish, Shirley Dander, Louisa Guy, and JK Coe, all led by the flatulent spymaster Jackson Lamb, played by Gary Oldman.
The upcoming season promises to be just as engaging as the previous ones, with the official synopsis hinting at a thrilling game of retaliation and revenge, and fans can undoubtedly expect more of Jackson Lamb's signature flatulence.
With its flawless return in season five, which debuted with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, Slow Horses has proven to be a triumph, with a brilliant cast, engaging story, and sharper-than-ever dialogue.
The latest installment saw computer whiz Roddy take center stage, and with Adam Randall returning to direct and co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe adapting the television series, fans can expect another thrilling season of Slow Horses.
