HeritageLive announced the abrupt cancellation of its 2026 summer festival series, a decision that has left many ticket holders scrambling for refunds.
The festival was scheduled to begin in early August at the historic Audley End estate and continue through the summer at Englefield and Sandringham estates.
Its lineup had promised a star‑studded program, featuring headliners such as Christina Aguilera, Lionel Richie, Janet Jackson, Eric Clapton, and Ricky Martin, along with supporting acts including Craig David, Blue, and the Sugababes.
Organizers cited lower‑than‑average ticket sales and a failed last‑minute investment as the main reasons for the cancellation, adding that rising costs and a crowded festival market made the event financially unsustainable.
In its statement, the promoter urged ticket holders to contact their ticket provider for refunds, while also offering an address for direct refund requests.
Fans who purchased tickets through SeeTickets reported a confusing loop, with the ticketing platform directing them to the festival for refunds while also stating it had no authority to process them.
Several social media posts highlighted frustration, with ticket holders reporting that the festival’s contact email bounced back and that the event’s social media channels had been shut down.
Ticketmaster confirmed it would issue automatic refunds to all customers, noting that the original payment method would be credited within 14 to 21 days, subject to bank processing times.
Despite this, some customers felt the process was unclear, with ticketing agencies suggesting they could dispute charges through their banks if refunds were not received.
A HeritageLive spokesperson clarified that while the promoter retained responsibility for refunds, the ticketing agency had pledged to fund refunds initially to avoid leaving customers out of pocket.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the decision to cancel was taken by the event promoter, GCE Live, and that the ticketing agent had not received the proceeds needed to process refunds.
Ticket holders are advised to keep their transaction receipts and to follow the instructions that will be sent by the festival organizers to claim refunds, as the situation remains unresolved.
