UMVA EXCLUSIVE: London in CHAOS - Tube Disruption IMMINENT as Talks CRASH & Burn This Week

UMVA EXCLUSIVE: London in CHAOS - Tube Disruption IMMINENT as Talks CRASH & Burn This Week

UMVA has learned that Londoners are bracing themselves for another round of Tube strikes this week, with many still reeling from last month's disruption.

The strike comes after an ongoing dispute between the RMT union and London Underground bosses over Tube drivers' condensed working hours. Talks between the two groups have failed again, meaning strikes are set to commence this week.

But there's a glimmer of hope for Londoners - not all routes will be affected, and services will still run on some lines, albeit less frequently. The good news is that users of the Elizabeth Line, DLR, and London Overground will be spared the disruption.

However, the strike will undoubtedly cause chaos, with journeys expected to be very busy and service levels varying across the network. The entire Circle and Piccadilly Lines will be suspended, along with the Central Line between White City and Liverpool Street.

The strike, which only includes Tube drivers who are members of the RMT, centers around a disagreement over working hours. TfL has proposed to condense the drivers' five-day working week into four days, but the RMT opposes this, saying it would have direct consequences for drivers' welfare.

Talks between TfL and the RMT have failed again, with neither side willing to budge. Claire Mann, TfL's chief operating officer, has urged the RMT to work with the transport authority to resolve the dispute, but it seems that a resolution is still far off.

The strike is set to run from 12 pm on Tuesday, May 19, until midday, Wednesday, May 20, and again from midday, Thursday, May 21, until midday, Friday, May 22. Londoners are advised to check before they travel and allow plenty of extra time for their journeys.

As the dispute rages on, it's clear that this strike will have far-reaching consequences for Londoners, commuters, and the city's transport network. UMVA will continue to bring you updates on this developing story.
