Paige Shiver bravely stepped forward, revealing a years-long, deeply inappropriate relationship with former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore, a connection that ultimately led to heartbreak and fear.
During a raw and emotional interview, Shiver recounted how the relationship began when she was a young intern in 2022, blossoming into an affair as she rose to become Moore’s executive assistant. She initially believed it was love, a conviction that has since shattered with the weight of reflection.
The situation took a devastating turn when Shiver became pregnant. Doctors delivered a heartbreaking diagnosis: the child had Pompe disease, a severe genetic disorder. Despite medical advice suggesting termination for her own health, Shiver desperately wanted to keep the baby.
Moore, aware of both the pregnancy and its complications, allegedly responded with chilling detachment, telling Shiver to “do what’s right for your body.” This moment, she says, highlighted the immense power imbalance that defined their relationship.
Shiver described a constant cycle of control and manipulation, where Moore wielded the threat of job loss over her. He held complete authority over her career, and she felt trapped, emotionally and professionally.
Attempts to break free were met with relentless pursuit. Moore, she explained, would always find a way to reel her back in, painting himself as utterly lost and dependent without her, exploiting her empathy and compassion.
Ultimately, Shiver found the courage to report Moore to the university, leading to his termination as coach in December 2025. The fallout was immediate and terrifying.
On the very same day he was fired, Moore allegedly confronted Shiver at her home, bursting through her door in a rage. He accused her of ruining his life, his imposing 6’4” frame looming over her as he advanced.
Shiver vividly recalled the escalating fear, describing how Moore’s demeanor was deeply disturbing. He was consumed by anger, tears streaming down his face, and then, chillingly, he began grabbing butter knives.
The ordeal culminated in Moore’s arrest and a plea of no contest to misdemeanor charges of malicious use of a telecommunications device and trespassing. He received 18 months of probation and a $1,000 fine, a sentence Shiver believes was far too lenient.
Despite the legal proceedings, Shiver remains haunted by the experience, forever marked by the betrayal and the terrifying confrontation. She hopes her story serves as a warning and a testament to the courage it takes to break free from manipulative control.
Moore’s attorney stated he has “closed this chapter,” but for Shiver, the scars of the past remain, a stark reminder of a relationship built on deceit and power.
