Senegal Star Edouard Mendy Sidelined for Crucial World Cup Match Against Belgium

Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been ruled out for the team's World Cup knockout game against Belgium due to a left knee injury.

In a statement, the Senegalese Football Federation announced that Mendy was forced off the field during Senegal's defeat to Norway, and subsequent medical examinations revealed that he would be unavailable for the next match.

Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw expressed his hopes for Mendy's swift recovery and stated that the team is looking forward to having him back for the remainder of the competition.

The nature of Mendy's injury is currently being evaluated through further medical examinations, and it remains unclear at this time whether he will be able to participate further in the World Cup.
