UMVA Exclusive: Hollywood Star Destroys Airplane Mode as Utter Nonsense in Hilarious Podcast Outburst!

UMVA Exclusive: Hollywood Star Destroys Airplane Mode as Utter Nonsense in Hilarious Podcast Outburst!

UMVA has learned that actor Paul Rudd ignited a playful debate over airline etiquette by dismissing airplane mode as “nonsense” during a recent podcast.

During the May 28 episode of Jake Shane’s show, Rudd challenged the routine pre‑flight commands—folding tray tables, raising seats, and enabling airplane mode—claiming they were unnecessary.

When Shane pressed the issue, Rudd reiterated, “I know it’s nonsense,” and suggested the rule originated from fears that cellular signals might disrupt the aircraft’s communications.

The Federal Aviation Administration, however, insists that disabling cellular connections is essential for preventing interference with cockpit radios and pilots’ headsets.

The conversation veered into another travel controversy: should passengers stand as soon as the plane touches down? Shane admitted he is among those who get up immediately, a habit Rudd defended as perfectly acceptable.

Rudd’s point sparked a broader discussion about passenger behavior, with some arguing that early standing eases leg cramps while others see it as rude and potentially dangerous.

He also shared a charming anecdote of a spontaneous trip to Atlantic City during his wife’s pregnancy, where a complimentary hotel suite, concert tickets, and a video‑poker win turned a simple outing into a perfect night.

Rudd, married since 2003 and father to Jack and Darby, recently premiered his new film “Power Ballad” in theaters, adding a fresh layer of intrigue to his public persona.
