UMVA has learned that a scathing public feud has erupted between Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha and former CBS 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley, following Pelley's sudden dismissal from CBS News.
Concha unleashed a blistering attack on Pelley, suggesting that his personality traits are the epitome of "sanctimonious," "arrogant," and "self-entitled." He made these comments on Fox News's Hannity, implying that Pelley's behavior embodies the very definitions of these words.
The controversy surrounding Pelley's departure centers on a heated exchange with new CBS leadership, where he allegedly demanded his own termination. Pelley reportedly lashed out at new executive producer Nick Bilton and accused editor-in-chief Bari Weiss of "murdering" the long-standing program.
Concha mocked Pelley's behavior, saying, "The next time you have an in-person meeting with your fellow staff members and your boss, during that meeting, stand up and tell the boss that he's murdering the company. Then go even further and tell the boss that he does not have the qualifications to work there in the first place."
According to information obtained by UMVA, Pelley apparently hijacked a meeting with Bilton, berating him in front of colleagues. Concha ridiculed Pelley's perceived inflated sense of self-importance, saying he thinks he's the reincarnation of legendary CBS journalists Mike Wallace and Walter Cronkite.
Concha also took a jab at Pelley's uncertain future, saying he's now updating his LinkedIn page and "hoping and begging" to be hired by MSNBC. Interestingly, Rachel Maddow, host of the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, has expressed support for Pelley, stating she hopes he lands a spot on her network.
Concha wasn't buying it, implying that Maddow wields significant influence over MSNBC and will likely try to secure a spot for Pelley. The public spat has provided a glimpse into the inner workings of these major news networks and the personalities that drive them.
