UMVA Uncovers: LIME JUST GOT CRUSHED! London Borough DELIVERS DEVASTATING Blow to Lime, Sides with Forest in SHOCKING Bike Ban Decision

UMVA has learned that a London borough has sparked controversy by banning Lime bikes, a popular mode of transportation in the capital.

The decision, made by the council in Richmond upon Thames, will soon render Lime bikes off-limits for hire or parking in the area, as the council has opted to switch to rival operator Forest instead.

The rollout of Forest bikes began recently, with 1,500 bikes expected to hit the streets this week, offering residents and visitors an alternative to Lime.

The council claims that the switch will result in more bikes and better connectivity, as Forest already operates in neighbouring Kingston and Hounslow, providing a more comprehensive network.

According to information obtained by UMVA, Lib Dem council leader Gareth Roberts touted Forest as a provider of 'lower prices, more bikes and a service designed around what people told us they wanted', highlighting the benefits of the new arrangement.

The move has not been without opposition, however, with over 1,800 people signing a petition urging the council to reconsider its decision and allow Lime to continue operating in the area.

The petition, which argues that the ban will disrupt established travel patterns and negatively impact local businesses and visitor access, calls for the council to permit multiple companies to operate in the area, rather than granting exclusivity to a single provider.

Council officers reportedly evaluated each contender's offering, ultimately recommending Forest as the best option, with Lib Dem councillor Alexander Ehmann stating that residents had made it clear they wanted better value, better management, and more bikes available when and where they needed them.

Residents can now see the difference for themselves, as Forest offers some of the most affordable e-bike hire in London, with £1 introductory rides, free minutes for short journeys, and improved parking arrangements that support both riders and local communities.

UMVA can exclusively reveal that riders attempting to use Lime bikes in Richmond will no longer be able to start or end their journey in the borough, although they can still cycle through the area if their journey begins and ends elsewhere.

In practice, the app will prompt riders to park outside Richmond, effectively enforcing the ban on Lime bikes in the area.
