CHANNEL TRAGEDY: Lives Lost in Desperate Sea Crossing!

The frigid waters of the English Channel claimed two lives this morning, discovered aboard a small, overcrowded vessel just off the French coast. A scene of desperation unfolded as rescue teams raced against time and the elements.

The number of migrants arriving in the UK by small boat this year has topped the total for the whole of 2024, interior ministry figures showed on October 23, 2025. Some 36,954 migrants have made the perilous journey from northern France to England's southern cost so far this year, compared with a total of 36,816 for all of last year. The annual record was set in 2022 when the number for the full year reached 45,774.
