Billie Eilish has a surprisingly effective strategy for keeping her next album a secret: she's keeping it from herself. The 24-year-old pop icon revealed this while promoting her new 3D concert film, directed by none other than James Cameron.
The film captures her massive Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, filmed during her Manchester run at Co-op Live. It promises an immersive experience packed with hits and tracks from her 2024 album. But fans are already hungry for what comes next.
When asked how she's keeping her upcoming fourth album under wraps, Eilish burst out laughing. "Well… I have no idea," she admitted. "It's coming along, but it is nowhere near finished."
Fans have dissected every studio hint and Instagram post for clues, but Eilish insists she genuinely doesn't know what shape the project will take. "I'm keeping this secret from myself," she explained with a grin.
"People ask, 'What's the name?' No clue. 'What's the vibe?' No clue. We're gonna find out together—and that's a really exciting place to be." Her last tour spanned 106 dates, sold 1.5 million tickets, and grossed over $220 million. The wait will be worth it.
James Cameron, who directed the concert film, was equally smitten with the singer. "By miles," he said when asked if she surprised him. He called her "very natural, very authentic" and a "really specific and particular visionary."
Now proudly calling her his "pal," Cameron went further: "You are basically a demigoddess to so many people on this planet." Despite a decade of fame and scrutiny, he's stunned by how grounded she remains.
"You are surprisingly sane," Cameron told her, adding she's "not a diva at all." Eilish dryly agreed: "It's hard to stay sane out here. I try." Between secret albums, global tours, and being called a demigoddess by the director of Titanic, she's handling it better than most.
