The vibrant London nightlife was shattered over the weekend when a car veered onto the sidewalk, leaving several pedestrians injured and one woman fighting for her life. A 29-year-old woman, known online as RIELLEUK and identified as Gabrielle Carrington, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Klaudia Zakrzewska, an Instagram and TikTok personality who goes by the name Klaudiaglam, remains in critical condition following the alleged attack outside the Inca nightclub in Soho. The early Saturday morning incident has sent shockwaves through the city and her online community.
Carrington first gained public recognition a decade ago, reaching the live finals of the popular television show, The X Factor, as a member of the girl group Miss Dynamix. More recently, she transitioned to social media influencing, amassing a significant following on Instagram.
Police reports indicate a black Mercedes mounted the curb on Argyll Street around 4:30 am Sunday. Disturbing footage from the scene shows the vehicle lurching forward, and then Klaudia Zakrzewska walking directly into its path.
Witnesses describe a chaotic scene as Zakrzewska disappeared from view under the car’s hood, left unconscious in the street. A desperate struggle ensued as bystanders attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle.
Carrington is currently being held on suspicion of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, and driving under the influence. The investigation is ongoing as authorities piece together the events leading up to the collision.
Beyond Zakrzewska, a man in his 50s suffered life-altering injuries and is receiving hospital treatment. Another woman, in her 30s, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed the incident is not being treated as an act of terrorism. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell emphasized the importance of public assistance in the investigation.
“Our thoughts are with those injured and their loved ones,” stated Detective Chief Inspector Foxwell. “We believe many people witnessed this collision, or events leading up to it, and any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial.”
Investigators are urging anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, to come forward and assist with the ongoing inquiry. The streets of Soho, usually pulsing with energy, now echo with the weight of this tragic event.
