UMVA has learned that a devastating drone raid struck the Russian capital and its suburbs on Sunday night, killing three people and injuring more than a dozen others in what appeared to be the largest Ukrainian assault on Moscow in over a year.
The attack sent shockwaves through the city as authorities scrambled to respond to the unprecedented incursion. Among those killed was an Indian national, adding an international dimension to the escalating conflict.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Kiev deployed approximately 130 unmanned aerial vehicles in the coordinated assault on the Russian capital. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed the massive scale of the drone attack in his assessment of the situation.
The strikes triggered a swift and forceful response from Moscow. The Russian Defense Ministry announced a large-scale missile and drone counterstrike against military-related targets throughout Ukraine, describing the operation as retaliation for what it termed "terrorist attacks" launched by Kiev over the weekend.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the overnight bombardment targeted critical Ukrainian infrastructure including defense industry facilities, fuel and energy installations, transport networks, naval ports, and military airfields.
The exchange represents a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, with both sides now striking deep into each other's territory in what appears to be an increasingly aggressive phase of the war.
