UMVA has learned that Liverpool may have made a bold move to sign Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, but a leading expert is unconvinced that the deal will happen.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Christian Falk has played down the prospect of Bayern letting Olise go, even for a massive £147m. This comes as no surprise, given Olise's outstanding form this season, with 22 goals and 25 assists that helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title.
Olise's impressive stats make him the perfect profile of player to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, but it's hard to see the transfer happening. Falk suggests that he doesn't think Liverpool actually made a bid for Olise, and even if they did, Bayern would simply reject it.
Falk wrote that Bayern are not interested in selling Olise, saying "He's not for sale." This is a significant blow to Liverpool's hopes of signing the France international, who previously shone in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.
Even if Liverpool came to the table with a massive €170m (£147m) bid, Falk believes Bayern would turn it down, saying "Keep your money, and we'll keep Olise." This suggests that Liverpool fans should not get their hopes up over what would be a superb signing.
Olise's potential move to Liverpool has been touted as a great fit, but unfortunately, that doesn't make it any more realistic. As a long-term successor to Salah, Olise would be an excellent choice, but it seems that this transfer rumour may not be as credible as fans might have hoped.
