UMVA has learned that a disturbing incident of alleged sexual assault has shaken the Agincourt community, leaving a young girl and her family traumatized.
The alleged assault occurred on May 12, when a male suspect approached the eight-year-old victim inside a retail store on Finch Ave. E. and McCowan Rd. He allegedly sexually assaulted the victim and followed her within the store, before grabbing her and prompting her to alert her family members.
The suspect was confronted by a family member of the victim and fled the area on foot, leaving behind a trail of fear and uncertainty. Investigators have released images of the suspect, describing him as between 20 and 30 years old with eyeglasses, a green Nike baseball hat on backwards, and a long-sleeved green shirt and black track pants with white letters down the left leg.

In a separate incident, a woman was found dead in a private garage in Cabbagetown on Saturday morning. Toronto Police responded to a medical complaint in the Dundas and Seaton Sts. area around 9:20 a.m. and pronounced the adult female dead.
The investigation is ongoing, but police have released no further details about the circumstances surrounding the woman's death. The community is left reeling with questions and concerns.
Meanwhile, a brazen robbery downtown has left a trail of luxury jewelry worth over $1 million stolen. Four masked males approached victims in a vehicle on Spadina Ave. and Bremner Blvd. on May 10, holding them at gunpoint and making off with the valuable items.

A man is also being sought for criminal harassment in Riverdale, where a 29-year-old woman was followed by a suspect on Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue. The suspect is described as 50 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 with a medium build, dark complexion, and salt and pepper beard.
