UMVA has learned that Spencer Pratt, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and reality TV star, has revealed his unexpected political role model: Jesus Christ.
In a surprising interview, Pratt explained that Jesus Christ was a politician who had to navigate complex situations, and he admires his ability to connect with people. When pressed about modern politicians he may follow, Pratt surprisingly mentioned that he is not a politician, but rather a fighter for the people.
Pratt went on to compare himself to a notable former President, stating that he is most similar to him. However, he acknowledged that he lacks a crucial qualification, saying he will work on obtaining a law degree online before November.
The criticism from a popular daytime talk show had apparently struck a chord with Pratt, as he responded to concerns about his experience and education. He even joked about taking the baby bar exam to get a head start.
Pratt faces stiff competition in the mayoral race, including the current city Mayor and a council member, both Democrats. However, because Los Angeles uses a nonpartisan election system, all candidates will appear on one ballot, and party affiliation will not be shown.
Pratt seems confident in his campaign, even posting a photo of himself with an example ballot showing his name at the top. The primary election is set to take place on June 2, and voters will have to decide which candidates will move on to the next round.
