Florida Suspect Struck by Vehicle While Fleeing Immigration Officers

A 28-year-old man has died after being struck by a semi-truck in St. Augustine, Florida, following an encounter with immigration agents. The incident occurred early Friday morning when four individuals fled on foot after being stopped in a gas station parking lot.

According to officials, the 28-year-old man ran into oncoming traffic and was fatally hit by a semi-truck. The immigration status of the victim is unclear, as is the reason immigration agents were involved in the operation.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident, which took place shortly before 7 a.m. Preliminary information suggests that an encounter between immigration agents and the four individuals occurred in the parking lot of a local gas station/convenience store.

One of the four individuals who fled on foot was hit by a tractor-trailer after running across State Road 16. The tractor-trailer driver stopped and tried to help the victim, but unfortunately, the man died from his injuries.

This incident marks the third death involving immigration agents in a week, following two similar incidents in Houston, Texas, and Maine. In both of those cases, the individuals involved were attempting to flee from immigration agents.
