Chloe Haynes, a 21-year-old woman from Wrexham, tragically lost her life in a shocking accident at a historic hotel in Liverpool. The incident occurred in September 2022, leaving behind a family and friends who are still seeking answers.
A court case is now pending against the hotel, with a provisional three-week trial date set for November 15, 2027, at Liverpool Crown Court. The case has been adjourned to December 4 for a further plea hearing.
Chloe's mother, Nicola Williams, has been demanding full transparency and accountability from the hotel. She expressed her grief and frustration, stating, "I need to know, as a mum, I need to know every detail. I just cannot believe my daughter is never coming home because of a wardrobe, for the sake of maybe two screws in a wall."
The investigation revealed that Chloe was found crushed under a wardrobe in her hotel room. Her friend had taken her back to the hotel to sleep off a night of drinking, and Chloe had woken up confused and opened the wardrobe door, which fell on her, causing fatal injuries.
Three men, including Chloe's friend and two Good Samaritans who assisted in lifting the wardrobe, were initially arrested in connection with the death but were later released. The family is still seeking answers and justice for Chloe's tragic loss.
Chloe's mother described her as a "petite and beautiful" young woman who struggled with confidence but was gaining it in the last year of her life. She had a wide circle of friends and was coming out of her shell, making her loss all the more devastating for those who loved her.
