POET'S BROTHER MURDER: Another Killer UNLEASHED!

POET'S BROTHER MURDER: Another Killer UNLEASHED!

The hunt ended today for Mohammed Abdullahi, a 34-year-old fugitive who topped the Bolo Program’s “Still Wanted” list. After a series of coordinated raids in Belleville, Ontario, Abdullahi was taken into custody by Belleville Police, marking a significant breakthrough in a case that stretched back nearly two years.

Abdullahi’s initial wanted status stemmed from a charge of first-degree murder, a case that sent shockwaves through Toronto’s music community. The victim was Mohamed Ahmed, the 36-year-old brother of acclaimed rapper Mustafa Ahmed, known professionally as Mustafa the Poet.

The circumstances surrounding Ahmed’s death were particularly chilling. He was discovered inside a vehicle, fatally wounded by a gunshot, in a brazen daylight attack in Toronto’s Cabbagetown neighborhood on July 25, 2023. The intersection of Sherbourne and Shuter Streets became a focal point of the investigation.

Mohammed Abdullahi was wanted for first-degree murder.

This arrest isn’t an isolated victory; it’s the culmination of a complex investigation that began with the apprehension of another suspect in November of last year. Yasir Mohamed, initially wanted alongside Abdullahi, was arrested by the Toronto Police fugitive squad and also charged with first-degree murder.

However, the story doesn’t end with the murder charge. Belleville Police, working with Kingston Police and the OPP, uncovered a web of additional criminal activity during their raids. Abdullahi now faces charges including possession of cocaine for trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and obstructing police.

The investigation revealed a disturbing connection to a separate case involving rapper Ridge “Big Rax” Kazumba. Ahmed had reportedly contacted Kazumba, who was in Congo at the time, warning him of threats against his life and that of his son, just one day before his own death.

Yasir Mohamed, 27, was arrested for the deadly 2023 shooting of Mohamed Ahmed and charged with first-degree murder on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.

Kazumba was ultimately convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Nakhari Henry-Robinson and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for twelve years. This conviction occurred just days before Abdullahi’s capture, adding another layer of complexity to the unfolding narrative.

The arrest of Abdullahi represents a critical step towards justice for Mohamed Ahmed and a significant win for law enforcement agencies across Ontario. It underscores the power of collaborative policing and the relentless pursuit of those who seek to evade accountability.
