A carefully constructed facade of beauty and companionship masked a calculated scheme, authorities allege. Adva Lavie, a 28-year-old model and influencer operating under the alias Mia Ventura, is accused of systematically targeting and robbing vulnerable older men in the Los Angeles area.
Lavie allegedly presented herself as a desirable companion on social media, meticulously crafting an online persona to attract the attention of affluent men. This wasn’t about genuine connection; it was a predatory tactic designed to gain trust and, ultimately, access to their lives.
Once she’d established a rapport, often posing as a girlfriend or travel companion, Lavie allegedly exploited the intimacy to gain entry into her victims’ homes. The result was a series of brazen burglaries, with money, gold, and valuable designer possessions disappearing.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has brought six felony charges against Lavie, including grand theft and first-degree residential burglary, some committed while victims were present in their homes. The charges paint a picture of a meticulously planned operation.
Lavie, who has graced the pages of Playboy and Penthouse and claims prominence on an online platform, was a wanted suspect in a string of residential burglaries across L.A. County since late 2023. Detectives began actively seeking victims last October, piecing together the scope of her alleged crimes.
Currently, Lavie is not in custody but is being monitored with an ankle device. A court order mandates she maintain distance from the men she is accused of victimizing, a small measure of protection for those whose trust she allegedly betrayed.
She has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges and is scheduled for arraignment. If found guilty on all counts, Lavie could face a lengthy prison sentence, potentially exceeding eleven years.
The case highlights the dark side of online connections and the vulnerability of individuals seeking companionship. It serves as a stark reminder that appearances can be profoundly deceiving, and that calculated manipulation can hide behind a beautiful face.
