Woman killed, man injured in single-vehicle crash in city's west end

A woman was killed in an early morning crash in the city’s west end early Saturday.


Toronto Police say officers responded to the single-vehicle collision near Eglinton Ave. W. and Bicknell Ave. – just west of Keel St. – around 2 a.m.


A 28-year-old man was driving a Ford Mustang west on Eglinton with a female passenger when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete pole, police said Saturday.


The passenger was pronounced deceased on scene.


Her name and age were not immediately released.

Driver survived the crash

Police said the driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


The investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
